How do I set-up the Client Portal?

For more information on the Client Portal, check out our blog post about it.

How to enable the Client Portal for my organisation

To enable the Client Portal for your organisation, you'll need to be an organisation administrator. If you're not an organisation administrator, you'll need to ask one to enable the Client Portal for you.

As an organisation administrator, you can enable the Client Portal by following these steps:

  • By clicking on your avatar at the top right, head to Organisation Settings
  • From here, click on Client Portal
  • You can enable the Client Portal by toggling the switch to "Enabled", setting a portal URL and clicking "Save Changes"

Whilst you're there, you may also want to customise the Client Portal by setting a custom logo, colour scheme and more. This is optional, but it can help to make the Client Portal feel more like your own.

Once the portal is enabled for your organisation, you can start inviting clients to the Client Portal by going into "Clients", selecting a client, and clicking "Invite to Client Portal" for individual contacts. This will send them an email with a link to sign up for the Client Portal.

How to enable the Client Portal for a project

Once the Client Portal is enabled for your organisation, you can enable it for individual projects. This allows you to control which projects are visible to clients in the Client Portal.

To do this, follow these steps:

  • Go to the project you want to enable the Client Portal for
  • Click on the "Settings" tab in the project sidebar
  • Scroll down to the "Client Portal" section
  • Toggle the switch to "Enabled" to enable the Client Portal for this project

Here, you can also control whether clients can upload files into the project. If enabled, clients will be able to upload files into the project, which can be useful for collaboration. Any files they upload will be automatically added to the "Client Uploads" folder. Please be aware that any files they upload will contribute to your storage quota, so make sure to monitor this if you have a lot of clients uploading files.
